Music Promotion with Instagram, Facebook and YouTube Ads
Reach potential listeners with music promotion campaigns on Instagram and Facebook through Meta, or on YouTube through Google. Built for independent African artists: choose your audience, creative, budget and schedule, use supported local-currency checkout, and follow reported campaign results in one workspace.
Built for African artists and creators: use supported local-currency checkout instead of a separate dollar card, and set up a campaign without learning multiple ad dashboards or hiring an in-house ads team.
Promote music distributed through ORB or released elsewhere with a public link. Meta campaigns can also promote a connected Instagram post or profile. Add images and videos, choose your audience, set your budget and schedule, and review the total before paying.
ORB offers two campaign funding options: pay the full campaign amount upfront, or fund the first portion by card and authorize later card refills where supported by the checkout country, payment provider and card. If automatic refills are not available for your checkout, you can still choose prepaid funding. The selected media budget is shown in USD, and the actual checkout currency and amount are shown before payment.
Prepaid campaign funding charges the displayed campaign amount, including its fee, before submission. There are no automatic card refills for a prepaid campaign. With automatic refills and an eligible card, the first portion is paid at checkout; later refills require campaign-specific authorization and are limited by the artist's maximum total actual card debits, including the first charge, fees and currency conversion. Future refills can be disabled.
An automatic refill is triggered by the remaining funded media balance, not by the time of day. Its default and minimum trigger is 30% of the daily USD media budget: $3 for a $10/day budget or $30 for a $100/day budget. The trigger is separate from the amount charged for each refill and from the maximum total card debits.
Once ads are submitted and approved, an artist can change the refill trigger at or above the 30% daily-budget minimum without ORB team approval, including after a previous refill. A higher trigger may cause a charge soon if the funded balance is low. Changing it does not raise the refill amount or total debit cap.
Campaigns are reviewed before activation. Follow campaign status and provider-reported results from Meta or Google in your account.
How to plan Instagram ads for music promotion
Choose the release, public music link, connected Instagram post or profile you want to promote. Match the image or video to that destination, choose relevant locations and audience interests, and set a budget you can sustain. ORB reviews campaigns before activation; an ad purchase does not guarantee followers, streams or playlist placements.
YouTube music advertising: measure the campaign, not assumptions
Prepare a suitable YouTube video and targeting for your campaign. Review provider-reported spend and the results available for the campaign objective. Ad clicks and video views are not the same as verified music streams or royalty earnings. Prepaid funding and optional eligible card refills have different payment rules; review the full quote and limits before checkout.
Frequently Asked Questions
- How does ORB charge for music promotion campaigns?
- Choose prepaid funding to pay for the campaign upfront, including the displayed fee, with no automatic refill charges. When your checkout country, payment provider and card support automatic refills, the first media funding and applicable fee are charged at checkout, then further authorized card charges can be made as funded media runs low. You see the actual checkout amount in the supported local currency before paying.
- When does an ORB automatic ad refill charge my card?
- It is based on remaining funded USD media balance, not a clock time. The default trigger is 30% of the daily media budget: $3 remaining for a $10/day campaign or $30 for a $100/day campaign. Provider spend reporting can be delayed, so a charge is not guaranteed at the exact balance. The refill amount and maximum total card debits are separate limits shown for authorization before checkout.
- Can I change my automatic refill trigger to $2 or $5?
- After the ads are submitted and approved, you can change the trigger in Campaign settings, including after a previous refill. A trigger cannot be below 30% of the daily USD media budget: on a $10/day campaign, $2 is not allowed, but $5 can be saved. On a $100/day campaign the minimum is $30. You must confirm the change; a higher trigger may cause a card charge soon if the funded balance is already low.
- What limits automatic refill charges?
- Before checkout, you authorize the first funding, refill amount and maximum total actual card debits, including the first charge, fees and currency conversion. Refills cannot exceed that cap or the campaign media target. You can disable future automatic refills in Campaign settings; that does not undo charges already made. Changing the balance trigger does not change the refill amount or total charge cap.
